About Kim
As a person and a therapist, I am: warm, steady, intuitive, kind, and playful. So far for me, emerging adulthood has meant navigating the clash of cultures and landscapes between the South and the Pacific Northwest. Originally from Kentucky, I moved to Seattle from Nashville. I am forever shaped by the rolling horse country of Kentucky, and the salty air of the Sound. I embody both the friendly embrace and drawl of my hometown, as well as the justice-loving and adventurous spirit of our region. I am grateful for both places. Seattle was the perfect place to pursue my graduate education as it, too, holds the tension of what it was and is becoming. In 2016, I earned a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology.
A little more
In addition to my graduate education, I received a year of clinical training in intersectional feminism as a therapist at Seattle Therapy Alliance (now known as MEND Institute). My experience as an intern allowed me to work with- and grow a passion for- a diverse group of women+ and the unique experiences they face. STA sharpened my approach to consider the interaction of multiple forms of oppression in the lives of my clients, and to be mindful of the systems and cultures that have shaped them.
I began my private practice in Fremont in 2016 and now serve clients in the South Sound. When I’m not in the office, I can be found enjoying the small delights of life, like checking out new coffee shops, finding free samples, playing with my kids, looking at boats, playing guitar, and watching sci-fi after trying a new (easy) recipe.
